This question was submitted to a Cades Cove FaceBook group, “Why should I want to go to Cades Cove?” After twenty-four hours, the responses were recorded and tabulated. There were 175 responses at that time, and the total is still growing, but 175 yielded enough data to tell what we wanted to know, why people keep returning to Cades Cove.
The top three responses were far ahead of everything else. However, the responses for the fourth and fifth place were surprising for two very different reasons. Number four was “God,” and number five was “History.” History was expected to be number two or possibility three, and God was not to even be in double digits. We are glad but surprised.
Here in East Tennessee, if someone says they rode or drove the Loop, everybody knows they are talking about the Loop road in Cades Cove. Therefore, only two responses of the Loop was unexpected.
